My Story
My love for chickens began with a simple desire to connect with nature, taking care of plants was way too time-consuming and boring. So instead, me and my mum decided to build a coop and purchase some hens (and a rooster).
What started as a humble backyard project — with no eggs for the first three months (until we realized our mistakes) — quickly grew into a full-fledged flock complete with chicks, pullets, and of course, daily eggs!
As I started to understand all the intricacies of chicken rearing (which wasn’t much, to be honest), I realized that I wasn’t just raising chickens, but connecting directly with one of my food sources and also getting back in touch with the environment.
Driven by this passion and the desire to share and improve upon my knowledge, I created Smart Chickens.
